This bike tour is among the most popular in Poland. Our proposition leads along the Vistula valley from Cracow to atmospheric Kazimierz Dolny. On the way, we will be passing many picturesque towns dating back to the reign of Kazimierz the Great. During the trip, we will be visiting the most important towns from Cracow to Warsaw. Thanks to the low difficulty level, the route is suitable for anyone, who wants to explore the region by bike.

Kraków/Cracow

Cracow needs no introduction. The capital of Lesser Poland, one of the oldest cities in Poland and the national cultural treasure. The Old Town, as well as Kazimierz district have been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. All the most important landmarks will be introduced to you during the scheduled city tour.

Wieliczka

Wieliczka is famous for its medieval salt mine, nowadays a museum, which offers the possibility of riding underground and tour the mining corridors. Thanks to its exceptional natural, historical and cultural value, the Wieliczka Salt Mine has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978.

Niepołomice

Town is known for its royal castle, located just next to its marketplace. Renovated, is a true highlight of this small, medieval town. For ages, the Niepołomice castle was the royal holiday residence, sometimes called „the second Wawel”.

Baranów Sandomierski

Baranów Sandomierski lies between river Vistula and Babulówka. It’s main attraction is the castle with its decorated galleries.

Sandomierz

Sandomierz is another royal town, which lies upon seven hills. Once a royal residence, it has developed as a trading outpost towards Kraków and the East of Europe.

Kazimierz Dolny

Kazimierz Dolny is an atmospheric town in the Lublin region. It is known for its rich history, charming old town, reneissance residences and surrounded by loess ravines. In the last century it has been a favourite destination of various artists, which display their works in numerous private galleries.

Nałęczów

Nałęczów is a resort in the Lublin region. Not as crowded as Kazimierz Dolny, it is quiet and peaceful, allowing proper relaxation. Historical villas and houses can be admired in the centre. The microclimate is especially recommended for treating cardiovascular diseases.

Day 8. Individual departure

 Day 1. Kraków/Cracow

 Arrival to Kraków. At scheduled time, the meeting with our representative, who will pass your bikes and route descriptions to you. Then, a guided tour of Kraków. We will learn about the city’s history and see the most important places, such as the main market, St. Mary’s Basilica, the Cloth Halls, St. Florian’s Gate, Wawel. In the evening we advise to take a walk in Kazimierz district.

Day 2. Kraków – Wieliczka – Niepołomice – Puszcza Niepołomicka – Nowe Brzesko

Distance: about. 53 km

Elevations: 132 m – 136 m

After breakfast we leave our luggage in the reception and start cycling. We start at the dragon monument and head for the Wieliczka salt mine, where we have about 1-hour guided tour scheduled. Then, cycling further we reach Niepołomice, where we can see the XIVth century castle. Further, we cycle through Niepołomice forest to our destination, Nowe Brzesko.

Day 3. Nowe Brzesko – Uście Solne – Zalipie – Baranów Sandomierski

 Distance: about 53 km by bike, by bus about 70 km

Elevations: 33 m – 62 m

From Nowe Brzesko we take the bike road, to eventually reach Zalipie at the end. Optionally, we advise to visit the the house of artist Felicja Curyłowa. Your driver will be waiting for you to take you to your accommodation in Baranów Sandomierski. After checking in we recommend to stroll the gardens and the castle here.

Day 4. Baranów Sandomierski – Gągolin – Sandomierz

Distance: about 35 km

Elevations: 23 m – 56 m

Today’s trip is a short one. Cycling along Vistula we will reach beautiful Sandomierz, with its picturesque old town on the hill. Its atmosphere and architecture may remind you of Kraków, although definitely a less crowded one. Before entering Sandomierz we recommend to make a pause and take a walk in the gorges, and take some photos. After checking in, you have a guided city tour scheduled.

Day 5. Sandomierz – Annopol – Józefów nad Wisłą

Distance: about 53 km

Elevations: 211 m – 246 m

After breakfast we start another day of the tour. Cycling along the banks of Vistula we have a chance to spot numerous bird species. Eventually, we are going to reach Józefów, where awaits our today’s accommodation.

 

Day 6. Józefów nad Wisłą – Kazimierz Dolny

Distance: about 40 km

Elevations: 111 m – 124 m

Today’s tour takes us to Kazimierz Dolny, which was once an important river port. Numerous granaries, which have been located here now function as pensions and hotels. Before reaching our destination we will observe the virgin nature many rare animal and plant species in the Kazimierz Landscape Park. After reaching the destination, we recommend to stroll the streets of Kazimierz or take a ferry to the other bank of the river and visit the ruins of Janowiec castle.

Day 7. Kazimierz Dolny – Nałęczów – train to Warsaw

 Distance: about 21 km

Elevations: 118 m – 164 m

Today’s trip will take us to Nałęczów. Thanks to its microclimate and the local waters, it is a destination chosen also for medical treatment. We recommend to take a walk in the park here. At scheduled time, you will meet our representative at the railway station, who will return your luggage and take your bikes. Nałęczów railway station has a direct connection to Warsaw. After arrival to the hotel guided tour of the Old Town in Warsaw.

Day 7. Warsaw – individual departure

Since Poland lies in the Schengen zone, EU citizens may enter it’s boarders with valid ID. Non-EU citizens are submitted to the same rules of entry as when entering any other EU country.
